blockbuster type & fake pastry shop packaging

We’ve been doing zoom movie nights with friends (lots of nostalgia watches and deep dives into our collective cheesy pasts), and recently rewatched Wes Anderson’s Grand Budapest Hotel. This time my nerd side noticed the switch to using the Archer font instead of Anderson’s typical loyalty to Futura. So of course I had to do some research, fell into a black (millennial pink) hole in the internet and ended up here: discovering Annie Atkins, designer extraordinaire of all sorts of fake curated things to be used as film props. Talk about a cool job! I’m especially obsessed with the Mendl’s pastry boxes, the hotel stationery, and the film’s fictional book of the same title. Looking forward to getting my hands on her book and nerding out over these designs even more.
